Polyp Removal

Polyp removal restores the uterine cavity and improves bleeding and fertility.

Endometrial polyps are benign growths of the endometrium that develop within the uterine cavity. They are a common gynecological finding and can occur in women of reproductive age as well as postmenopausal women. In many cases, they are asymptomatic, while in others they may cause abnormal bleeding, intermenstrual spotting, infertility, or recurrent miscarriages.

Diagnosis is usually established with transvaginal ultrasound or hysteroscopy. Modern management involves hysteroscopic removal, which allows direct visualization and precise excision of the polyp. This minimally invasive method preserves the normal anatomy of the uterus.

Indications for Removal

Removal is recommended when there are symptoms, infertility, postmenopausal bleeding, or suspicious morphological features on evaluation.

Hysteroscopic Technique

The procedure is performed through the cervix without abdominal incisions, using specialized microsurgical instruments that allow precise and safe removal.

Postoperative Follow-Up

Recovery is usually immediate, with a quick return to daily activities. Histological examination of the polyp confirms the diagnosis. With specialized hysteroscopic expertise and proper follow-up, polyp removal effectively addresses symptoms and supports women’s reproductive health.
